I’m not a big Lee fan, but the new company has done worlds better at online. Our spot news opeates like the wire service. We’re beating radio and TV and people are turning to our online for things like school closings and cancellations durings storms — a long-time radio franchise is becoming ours.
Sounds great anonymous not a big Lee fan–How much revenue is Lee generating with you beating radio and tv with your school closings and their online revenue increases of #@!$^^ % over last year. Sounds like you are an employee with nurtured achievements but not long for Lee– remember it’s all about $$$$$$. Oh-and how are things on the street? Wall Street that is!
Thank you for making so many assumptions about me. The truth is, I’m a pro-union person in Bloomington with no resumes out there. I’m just stating the truth, Mr. Cynical.
Who- What- Where -did that come from? Nightshift, you don’t have to go to Caterpillar. Once we form a Union (if you work at the Pantagraph) things will be a whole lot better I see you on a scooter. I was at the Labor Day parade and a union worker told me that working people have more say when they have a union contract than the bosses wants them to have. Because the contract says what the bosses can and cannot do to us and what we get for the time we work. We could have a contract to give you real overtime. Forget the footprint. I don’t think we will agree to a contract that lets them treat us like they do now. Really its up to us- how can it get worse-To all I bet that’s why Linda wants the union out? YOU THINK - GET REAL! Linda really is a pantagraph with a scooter. That’s for you nightshift vote yes.
I don’t know what this online thing means to lee I know what that foot print means to me. I get the foot “you know where” every night working thru brakes and staying late sometimes to get papers out. I said I wanted overtime, my boss said you get to work over the time you get off. what? I want a raise but not the kind he passes out. I am thinking of going to caterpillar my buddy works there and he got a new Italy scooter.
I saw that Mary was awarded over 250,000 shares in Lee stock options this month, 11/07. I know she will now continue on as CEO inspite of the 50% decline in Lee stock this year. To be awarded compensation like this for non- proformance sends a very conflicting message to all Lee employees
who are asked to do more for less. I hope she is greatfull for all our sacrifices that allow her to keep smiling.
We’ll, I have lost about all the money I can afford to lose on this company’s stock. Dropping my ESOP ASAP. The real shame is watching the company I work for and helped become a real player in my community, become a laughing stock amongst my competing colleagues, who’s companies are REALLY embracing web technology rather than just talking about it, and seeing our best workers flee while the deadwood hangs on lacking any other options.
Why is Davenport not giving us information about our online gains at this time.I know online only represents about 7% of total revenue but the percentage growth is huge like 50% I think. This could be a good time to say something positive about our company in a way that has big positive numbers attached to it- like our circulation which is holding and not going down like other papers. I think this would encourage people to invest money in the company and help the stock go up. We have a lot of good things going on and I think now is the time to tell people about how great Lee is.
