A Forum for Lee Employees—Sponsored by the St. Louis Newspaper Guild, AFL-CIO, CLC

LEEWATCH.org  The Guild’s Eye on Lee Enterprises

Welcome to leewatch.org, a website designed to allow employees of Lee Enterprises from across the country to communicate and stay up to date on issues and events impacting our newspapers and our industry.

Some Lee employees are already Newspaper Guild members—with rights on the job, wages and benefit levels secured in a union contract.  Other employees are currently forming organizing committees and getting involved in building a union at certain Lee papers.  Whether you are involved in an organizing campaign, a current Guild member or if you are from a paper not yet involved in one of the campaigns, we hope the information on this site will be helpful to you and your coworkers.

All employees of Lee are encouraged to visit often to check for updates and post comments or questions on the leewatch blog.

Our Organizing Committee is Committed to:

♦   Insisting on FAIRNESS in wages, benefits and working conditions

♦   Advocating for EXCELLENCE in journalism and business practices

Fostering UNITY and understanding with the company and among departments

Lee employees at the Pantagraph in Bloomington, IL developed this parody prayer card for use in their organizing campaign.  The issues of Fairness, Excellence and Unity are central to the campaign.
